…to receive scholarship funds to assist
you in sending your children to a private
school? If your adjusted gross income is lower
than $50,000.00 plus $10,000.00 per
dependent, then you qualify for assistance.
Behind the Scenes
PA Act 4 of 2001 and Act 48 of 2003 established
the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax
Credit (EITC). This provides tax credits to eligible
businesses that contribute to a scholarship
organization. If businesses contribute to our
scholarship fund and designate their contribution
for scholarships at your school, money is available
for tuition assistance.
How to Participate
1. Each parent must first determine
eligibility. The combined adjusted gross
income of a household cannot exceed
$50,000.00 plus $10,000.00 per
dependent.
For example: If a family has three
dependents, then their household
income must not exceed $80,000.00 to
qualify for assistance.
2. If your family is eligible, and if our
Scholarship Fund has received
contributions designated for your school,
the next step is to complete a Family
Application. A Family Applications can
obtain from your school administration.
3. Send Family Application
directly to Faith Builders Scholarship
Fund.
4. After we receive your Family
Application, we will respond by sending
you a Confirmation Notice. This
Conformation Notice reflects the Family
Application information as entered into
our database.
5. After the application process is
completed, we will notify you of the
tuition award by sending an Award
Notice. The timing of the Award
Notice depends on when the money
becomes available for your school. At
the very latest, you will always receive
your Award Notice by December 1 of
a given school term.
6. The money that is awarded your
family for tuition assistance is never
sent directly to the family. Instead, the
money is always sent to the school
on behalf of the family tuition
expenses.
7. The last step of this scholarship
assistance process is gratitude and
thanksgiving. We provide a Gratitude
Postcard for you from every
contributor that sponsors the
scholarship awards. These Gratitude
Postcards will be sent along with the
Award Notice. As a scholarship
organization, Faith Builders believes
that gratitude toward contributors is
of high virtue. We ask you to be
thoughtful and authentic as you write
a note of thanksgiving to the business
that invested in your school.
